Pulsar Empowerment: Unleashing Scale and Security in eCommerce

Beyond Inc has built a robust unified messaging and data fabric (UMF), underpinned by a sophisticated stream processing network built on Apache Pulsar and making extensive use of Pulsar functions. This talk provides a comprehensive overview of the platform, its management, and automation systems. With over 1700 Pulsar functions currently deployed on the platform, I will deep dive into FunctionAuthProviders, specifically a custom KubernetesFunctionAuthProvider, designed to facilitate fine-grained authentication through automated JWT allocation. This unique solution empowers our self-service developer-facing platform to seamlessly integrate with Pulsar's function authentication mechanism, ensuring robust security and user-friendly experiences.
