Ben Lorica, was formerly Chief Data Scientist at O’Reilly Media, and the former Program Chair of the Strata Data Conference, the O’Reilly Artificial Intelligence Conference, and TensorFlow World. Ben is also an advisor to a few exciting startups and organizations: Databricks, Alluxio, Matroid, Anodot, Determined AI, Anyscale, Faculty (formerly ASI Data Science), Graphistry, Yakit, and The Center for Data Intensive Science + Open Commons Consortium (University of Chicago).

Dave Fisher

Member and Board of Directors, ASF

Dave Fisher is Member and Board of Directors at The Apache Software Foundation. He is the mentor of the Daffodil, DataSketches, Doris, ECharts, and Heron projects; and PMC Member of the Incubator, Olingo, OpenOffice, POI, and Pulsar projects.

Jerry Peng

Principal Software engineer, Splunk

Boyang Jerry Peng is currently a Principal Software Engineer at Splunk working on streaming/messaging projects. Jerry is a committer and PMC member of Apache Pulsar, Apache Storm, and Apache Heron projects. Before Splunk, he worked at Streamlio (acquired by Splunk), Citadel, and Yahoo on distributed systems and stream processing. Jerry has been working in the area of distributed systems and stream processing since his days in grad school at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Penghui Li

Software Engineer, Apache Pulsar Committer/PMC Member, StreamNative

Penghui Li is a PMC member of Apache Pulsar and a tech lead in StreamNative. Previously, he worked at Zhaopin.com where he served as the leading promoter to adopt Pulsar. His career has always involved messaging service from the messaging system, through the microservice, and into the current world with Pulsar.

Jia Zhai

Co-Founder, StreamNative

Jia Zhai is the founding engineer of StreamNative, as well as a PMC member of Apache BookKeeper and Apache Pulsar. He contributes to Apache BookKeeper, Apache Pulsar continually. Before his work at StreamNative, Jia worked as Principal Engineer and technical leader at EMC Beijing. He mainly focused on distributed storage service, and big data infrastructure.

Dezhi Liu

Senior Software Developer, Tencent

Dezhi Liu is a senior software developer in the billing department at Tencent, where he specializes in the development of middleware and software components related to finance.

Matteo Merli

CTO, SteamNative

Matteo Merli is the PMC Chair of Apache Pulsar and CTO at StreamNative. He is co-creator of Pulsar while at Yahoo!, co-founder of Streamlio, Committer and PMC of Apache Pulsar and Apache BookKeeper. He works for The Apache Software Foundation for 4+ years, and has rich experience in distributed pub-sub messaging platforms.

Nozomi Kurihara

Manager of Messaging Platform team, Yahoo Japan Corporation

Nozomi Kurihara is the Manager of the Messaging Platform team in Yahoo Japan Corporation, responsible for creating a centralized pub-sub messaging platform. It is based on Apache Pulsar and deals with a vast number of service/application traffics. He is also a committer of the Apache Pulsar project.

Sijie Guo

Co-Founder and CEO, StreamNative

Sijie Guo has worked on messaging and streaming data technologies for more than a decade. Sijie was the tech lead at Twitter for the messaging infrastructure group, where he co-created DistributedLog and Twitter EventBus. Prior to that, he worked on the push notification infrastructure at Yahoo!, where he was one of the original developers of BookKeeper and Pulsar. He is also the VP of Apache BookKeeper and PMC member of Apache Pulsar.

Vincent Xie

Chief Data Scientist, Bestpay

Vincent Xie is the Chief Data Scientist and Head of the AI Lab at Bestpay co. Ltd, where he built the Big Data & Artificial Intelligence infrastructure of the company from scratch. Previously, he worked at Intel for many years, mainly on machine learning- and big data-related open source technology ecosystem.
